Multi-Touch Repair Program Launched by Apple

Multi-Touch Repair Program by Apple for iPhone 6 Plus

Apple has launched a global repair program for the iPhone 6 Plus that exhibit any failure to use the touch screen, flickering bar at the top, and general unresponsiveness of the display. After many months of customers going to the Genius Bar for the iPhone 6 Plus "touch disease" , customers that paid $329 will be reimbursed the difference between the $329 and $149 ($180). Although not a completely covered repair, this is still good news for new cases of this widespread issue because it's less than half the cost of what it normally is out of warranty.

The failure of the multi-touch has been determined to be caused by multiple hard drops by engineers. Mend On iPad Rehab has attested that the issue is actually caused by a loose chip on the logic board called the "touch ic chip" that fails due to it not being bonded to the logic board. In order to receive the repair from Apple, you must make a Genius Bar appointment at a local Apple Authorized Service Provider, Apple Retail Store or Apple Technical Support.

Backup your data before sending out your iPhone 6 Plus for repair. It is highly likely that your logic board will be replaced and all of the data will be erased when it is returned to you. If you need assistance feel free to contact us for tips on how to backup your iPhone 6 Plus in this state. It is also important to note Apple will offer this program for 5 years from date of purchase.
